PANGAEA - A PROJECT THAT BRIDGES CULTURES

The Pangaea project offers an inter-cultural dialogue between countries across the globe with the aim to stimulate an appreciation of other societies and traditions.

A saying goes: "We are most afraid of what we do not understand". The IDEA Society has launched its global project Pangaea to diminish this fear and to enhance cultural exchanges and mutual understanding by means of assembling a collection of paintings from a breadth of artists from around the world. The collected artistic works will be the ambassadors of the various cultures striving to enhance the appreciation of different traditions and highlighting the diversity and richness of our global cultural heritage. Art - the one universal language - is the ideal vehicle in bringing cultures closer together and revealing developments in a particular society. Therefore the theme for all paintings of the Pangaea project was chosen as "Our society of today and tomorrow". In January 2011 an exhibition of all the "Pangaea paintings" will take place in Vienna allowing a wide audience to participate in this multicultural experience. In addition to its endeavour to build cross cultural bridges, the IDEA society encourages charitable projects. Therefore the Pangaea project serves also to support the humanitarian program of UNICEF through a donation of 100.- Euro for each acquired painting. In order to achieve its project's goal, the IDEA society will over the course of two years liaise with artists and art galleries regarding the production of paintings, build partnerships with international sponsors to support the project and coordinate the exhibition of the "Pangaea paintings".

PANGAEA - Ein Projekt zur Errichtung von Kulturbrücken

Das Pangaea Projekt ermöglicht den interkulturellen Dialog zwischen Ländern aus der ganzen Welt, um gegenseitiges Verständnis für andere Kulturen und Traditionen zu schaffen.

Eine Redewendung besagt: "Wir fürchten uns am meisten vor den Dingen die wir nicht verstehen". Die IDEA Society hat dieses globale Pangaea Projekt begonnen, bei dem eine Sammlung aus Bildern von einer Fülle von Künstlern aus aller Welt zusammengestellt werden soll, um diese Ängste zu dämmen und um den kulturellen Austausch und das gegenseitige Verständnis zu fördern. Die eingesammelten Kunstwerke werden als Botschafter der verschiedenen Kulturen dienen, die die Vielseitigkeit und das Reichtum an globalem Kulturerbe aufzeigen und damit das Verständnis und die Anerkennung für die verschieden Traditionen erwecken sollen. Die Kunst - als universelle Sprache - ist das ideale Mittel um Kulturen näher zu bringen und um den gesellschaftlichen Gedankenaustausch anzuregen. Deshalb wurde als Bilderthematik für das Pangaea Projekt "Unsere Gesellschaft von heute und morgen" auserwählt. Im Januar 2011 wird eine Ausstellung von allen "Pangaea Kunstwerken" in Wien stattfinden, um einem breiten Auditorium den Zugang zu diesem multikulturellen Ereignis anzubieten. Zusätzlich zur Förderung von Kulturzusammenführungen, ist die IDEA Society auch bemüht Wohltätigkeitsprojekte anzustreben. Deshalb dient das Pangaea Projekt auch zur Unterstützung des humanitären Programms von UNICEF in Form einer Spende von 100 Euro für jedes akquirierte Bild. Um das gesetzte Projektziel zu erreichen wird die IDEA Society im Rahmen von zwei Jahren Verbindung zu Künstlern und Galerien, bezüglich der Erarbeitung der Bilder, aufnehmen. Gleichzeitig werden Partnerschaften mit internationalen Sponsoren aufstellt, um die Projektförderungen zu sichern. Abschließend wird der Kulturverein die Ausstellung der "Pangaea Kunstwerke" koordinieren.

PANGAEA - un projet qui érige des ponts entre les cultures

Le projet PANGAEA offre un dialogue inter-culturel entre les pays à travers le globe dans le but de stimuler l'appréciation des différentes cultures et traditions.

Selon un adage : "Nous sommes le plus effrayés par ce que nous ne comprenons pas." IDEA Society a mis en route son projet global PANGAEA pour restreindre cette crainte et pour aider les échanges culturelles et la compréhension réciproque, par le biais d'un assemblage d'une collection de peintures peintes par des artistes du monde entier. Les peintures séléctionnées, fruits de l'oeuvre artistique de leurs auteurs, représenteront les ambassadeurs des diverses cultures. Ces oeuvres s'efforceront de contribuer à une meilleure appréciation des différentes traditions et de mettre en lueur la diversité et la richesse de notre héritage culturel commun. L'art, un langage universel, est le moyen idéal de rapprochement, rassemblant les cultures plus proches l'une de l'autre. C'est un moyen idéal également pour révéler les développements dans une société particulière. C'est pourquoi toutes le peintures du projet PANGAEA ont été placées sous le dénominateur commun du thème "Notre société d'aujourd'hui et de demain." En janvier 2011 une exposition de toutes les peintures issues du projet PANGAEA aura lieu à Vienne, en Autriche, permettant à une large audience de participer à cette expérience multiculturelle. En supplément de sa tentative d'élaborer des ponts culturels, IDEA Society encourage des projets de charité. C'est pourquoi le projet PANGAEA sert également de support au programme humanitaire d'UNICEF à travers une donation de 100 Euros pour chaque peinture acquise. Pour aboutir à la finalité de son projet, IDEA Society restera, au cours de deux années, en liaison avec des artistes et des galeries artistiques en ce qui concerne la production de peintures, construira des partenariats avec des sponsors internationaux pour soutenir le projet et coordonera l'exposition des peintures issues du projet PANGAEA.
